Autry DeWalt Mixon Jr June 141931 November 23 1995, known by the stage name Junior Walker, styled as Jr Walker, was an American musician. His group, Jr Walker & the All Stars, were signed to Motowns Soul label in the 1960s,and became one of the companys signature acts.His saxophone style was the anchor for the band's overall sound. The other original members of the group were drummer Tony Washington, guitarist Willie Woods, and keyboardist Vic Thomas.

He was considered a master showman, and one of the most dynamic and influential singers and performers in R&B and rock n roll history

Kurt Donald Cobain February 20,1967 April 5 1994 was an American musician who was best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band Nirvana. Cobain formed Nirvana with Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987 and established it as part of the Seattle music scene and grunge genre. Nirvana's debut album Bleach was released on the independent record label Sub Pop in 1989.After signing with major label DGC Records, the band found breakthrough success with Smells Like Teen Spirit from their second album Nevermind (1991).

Marvin Gaye born Marvin Pentz Gay Jr April 2 1939 April 1 1984 was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Gaye helped to shape the sound of Motown in the 1960s, first as an in house session player and later as a solo artist with a string of hits, including Aint That Peculiar, How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) and I Heard It Through the Grapevine, and duet recordings with Mary Wells, Kim Weston, Diana Ross and Tammi Terrell, later earning the titles "Prince of Motown" and Prince of Soul.During the 1970s, he recorded the concept albums What's Going On and Lets Get It On and became one of the first artists in Motown to break away from the reins of their production company.

Michael Kelland John Hutchence 22 January 1960 22 November 1997was an Australian musician and actor. He was a founding member, lead singer and lyricist of rock band INXS from 1977 until his death in 1997. He was a member of short lived pop rock group Max Q and recorded solo material which was released posthumously. He acted in feature films, including Dogs in Space, Frankenstein Unbound 1990 and Limp 1997. According to rock music historian, Ian McFarlane,Hutchence was the archetypal rock showman. He exuded an overtly sexual, macho cool with his flowing locks, and lithe and exuberant stage movements.Hutchence won the 'Best International Artist at the 1991 BRIT Awards with INXS winning the related group award.

Major Lance April 4 1939,1941 or 1942September 3 1994 There has been some dispute over Major Lances birth year some sources claim he was born in 1941 or in 1942 as Lance claimed. However, 1939 appears to be the correct year of birth. He was an American R&B singer. After a number of US hits in the 1960s, including The Monkey Time and Um Um Um Um Um Um, he became an iconic figure in Britain in the 1970s among followers of Northern soul. Although he stopped making records in 1982, Major Lance continued to perform at concerts and on tours until his death in 1994.

Mary Esther Wells May 13 1943 July 26 1992 was an American singer who helped to define the emerging sound of Motown in the early 1960s. Along with the Supremes, the Miracles, the Temptations, and the Four Tops, Wells was said to have been part of the charge in black music onto radio stations and record shelves of mainstream America, bridging the color lines in music at the time.With a string of hit singles composed mainly by Smokey Robinson, including The One Who Really Loves You, Two Lovers 1962, the Grammy nominated You Beat Me to the Punch 1962 and her signature hit My Guy 1964, she became recognized as The Queen of Motown until her departure from the company in 1964, at the height of her popularity. She was one of Motowns first singing superstars.

Phil Lynott 20 August 1949 4 January 1986 was an Irish musician, singer and songwriter. His most commercially successful group was Thin Lizzy, of which he was a founding member, the principal songwriter, lead vocalist and bassist. He later also found success as a solo artist.Growing up in Dublin in the 1960s, Lynott fronted several bands as a lead vocalist, most notably Skid Row alongside Gary Moore, before learning the bass guitar and forming Thin Lizzy in 1969. After initial success with Whiskey in the Jar, the band found strong commercial success in the mid 1970s with hits such as The Boys Are Back in Town.

Peter Tosh OM born Winston Hubert McIntosh 19 October 1944 11 September 1987 was a Jamaican reggae musician. Along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, he was one of the core members of the band The Wailers 1963 1974, after which he established himself as a successful solo artist and a promoter of Rastafari. He was murdered in 1987 during a home invasion.
